Wahine and Skylie!

Turns out, she's a true seadog
I was finally able to introduce Skylie (my Border Collie) and Wahine to each other.
I had to bring the car up (to Tokyo) from our log house in Aichi Prefecture, and so brought Skylie along with me. Kande (my wife) joined us two days later.
I was not sure how Skylie would cope with being on a boat. On one hand, she trembles (and pees) when she hears thunder or fireworks, while on the other hand she loves the water!!
In the end, she leapt on board, made it her own and looked completely at ease, except for slight hesitance going down and up the stairs to get to the saloon.
Skylie and I have put a lot of miles on together, particular by bicycle. We rode a few thousand kilometers together as I tried to pedal my way around the Honshu coastline. That challenge, which I spread out over a few years was called: Japan Coast to Coast . . . the long way around . . . . with my dog!
Going to the river is one of her most favorite things, and although she has had limited experience in sea water, she has always dove in without hesitation.
I have been asked if Skylie will accompany me on the crossing. And I have given a definitive "no".
